Getting to know Shopware

I enjoyed participating in the Shopware Architect training in New York City. I was excited to return to NYC, learn something new and meet fellow innovators. Little did I know that upon completing the course, I would see Shopware Blue! I thought giving some background on the company and how it started would be good.

Background on Shopware

Stefan Hamann established the company Hamann-Media Gmb 16 years ago. His brother, Sebastian, joined him in 2002, providing the company with elegance, creativity, and a unique image.

This combination of technology and design would be the foundation for Shopware’s rapid growth. This was when they brought Stefan Heyne on as a professional salesperson. Though the company has seen many changes over the years, its core values of openness, authenticity, and vision have remained the same. Stefan and Sebastian Hamann continue to be the driving force behind Shopware.

When he was 16 years old, Stefan Hamann established Hamann-Media GmbH, a classic internet agency. Quickly, the tech-savvy high school student was so well-known in Schoppingen that he became the go-to person for any computer issue the village’s citizens had.

Upon establishing the business, Stefan decided to collaborate with his brother Sebastian. He provided a necessary impetus for creativity. The pair’s unique talents created an optimal equilibrium between technology and aesthetics.

At www.arktis.de, the Hamann brothers are requested to construct a personalized storage system. Existing options available at the time are deemed below par in terms of technology and appearance.

Stefan and Sebastian created a store system that is technologically and aesthetically advanced. To make it available to the public, they choose to market it as a standard product, thus giving birth to Shopware.

They made Stefan Heyne the third member of the board.

Drawing on his experience in the sales industry, Heyne establishes the framework for indirect sales in Germany and other countries.

Shopware Today

Since its establishment, Shopware has seen a yearly expansion of 30-40 percent rates.

Shopware releases a “Community Edition” of its open-source software in the fall.

Schoppingen’s firm ideology of transparency and “community-driven progress” drove the company’s key strategic decision.

Overnight, the open-source version of the system became widely known when its download figures shattered existing records.

Shopware has made an accurate selection, resulting in a sequence of yearly increases that remain in effect at the present time.

The Shopware personnel have been in the British Isles market since 2016. Closely collaborating with their large network of distinguished brands and partner firms to modify the software to fit regional needs.

We were thrilled to have seen a 500% growth rate in the span of 18 months before the London office launch. The new premises will help us to strengthen our foothold in the UK market.
