Make Your Brand Shoppable by AI Agents with Praneet Chandra of Comergent AI
Isaac Morey sat down with Praneet Chandra on day two of Shoptalk Fall in Nashville. Praneet is the founder and CEO of Comergent AI, an agentic shopping platform.
“We enable brands to be visible and shoppable across AI bots as well as the AI search engines,” he says.
That covers discovery in tools like ChatGPT and the checkout that follows, whether a person or an agent completes the purchase.
Billions of Shoppers, Trillions of Agents
Praneet pictures people and their agents shopping together.
“There are a couple of billion shoppers and then they will have trillions of agents, a personal agent,” he says.
His example was a personal agent that knows Isaac is headed to Shoptalk, checks whether he needs a new blazer, browses the brands he knows and brings back a final pick. For jobs like grocery shopping, the agent can buy on its own within limits.
“And I can always give an authorization limit that hey do not spend more than X amount,” he says.
Visibility First
Comergent AI works with fifty-six plus customers, and Praneet says they gain orders from being visible in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini. He calls those assistants a rudimentary form of personal agents, and he wants brands to solve visibility now.
Fix the Product Data
Websites were built for people, with pop-ups, offers and conversion work. An agent reads none of that.
“When ChatGPT comes, it comes with a finite memory to really read things. Are you gonna bore it? Right?” he says.
His order of work starts with the product description, who the product is for, why to buy it and what it is, backed by reviews and structured data. Content clusters come after that, linked back to products and collections.
AI Garbage
Isaac asked for his definition of AI slop, and Praneet raised the stakes.
“I call it AI garbage. It’s not even a slop, right?” he says.
He described a brand that asks an AI tool to write a blog post about its linen sheets. The post claims a 300 thread count, the product page says 200, and an agent comparing the two marks the site as untrusted. His fix is guardrails and real product and company information before the model writes anything, plus a manual review before work goes to another person.
A Card and a Wallet for Agents
Praneet expects the open question of identifying an AI shopper to reshape advertising, and for the first time to tie what a person intended to buy to the transaction.
His hot take is that agents will get a card and a wallet so they can complete purchases, which leaves brands a short window to get ready.
“So I think your window of horizon is probably three to four months at this point of time,” he says.
