Post-Purchase Offers Are an Undertapped Revenue Stream with Or Shahar of Falcon Labs

We sat down with Or Shahar on day two of Shoptalk Fall in Nashville. Or is the COO and co-founder of Falcon Labs, a San Francisco company that works in the part of the shopping journey that starts after the order is placed.

“Falcon Labs is all about providing new and innovative solutions for merchant to utilize post-purchase offers,” he says.

The offers, gifts and perks come from Falcon’s partners, and a machine learning engine curates and optimizes which ones each shopper sees.

The Undertapped Part of the Funnel

For a merchant, the post-purchase moment rarely sits at the top of the list next to distribution or conversion optimization. Or sees revenue and loyalty left on the table there.

“The post-purchase section and that piece of the funnel is undertapped in terms of monetizing and making the most, both in terms of a revenue stream and both in terms of the experience to the customer,” he says.

He ties it to retention and repeat purchases, and to a new revenue stream at a time when margins can be tough to manage.

Relevant Offers

Relevance is the core of the product. Falcon builds a personalization engine on its data and benchmarks, and Or says the engine includes LLM and agentic tools. He keeps the AI talk out of the pitch.

“If you look at our pitch deck, you’re not gonna see AI, AI and a agentic things on all slides,” he says.

When the conversation turned to AI slop, he described AI added for its own sake as the thing Falcon works to avoid.

“That’s gonna create generic solutions, that’s gonna create just off-the-shelf solutions that are not customer to you, accustomed to you as a merchant,” he says.

Merchants Keep Control

A merchant hands Falcon access to customers it worked hard to acquire and retain. Or treats that as a responsibility, and the platform and the team give merchants transparency and control over which offers and advertisers appear.

“If I’m a merchant from a specific genre, I might be sensitive to other genres,” he says.

The Happy Moment After Checkout

The thank you and confirmation pages catch a shopper right after a purchase, with attention to spare.

“There’s a moment of intent, it’s a happy moment, I just made a purchase, I wanna see what’s going on,” he says.

Falcon measures against lifetime value. Or’s advice to merchants is to try offers, surveys and shipping tools on those pages, A/B test them, and mix solutions by segment, such as first-time buyers and repeat customers, with incrementality analysis on top.

As Creative as Gaming

Or and his co-founders came from game tech. His hot take is that e-commerce is as creative as gaming, so Falcon tailors the experience to each merchant through design, templates, curation and segmentation.

“This is not just another Shopify app or a JavaScript solution. It’s a tailored approach to curating it to your audience and your wish list,” he says.
