Sixth Annual Spirit of Giving Initiative to Award $50,000 to Hawai?i Nonprofits as Love's Brand Celebrates 175 Years
Nominations Open July 6 Through August 9.
HONOLULU, HI — The Love’s Brand Spirit of Giving initiative returns for its sixth year with a continued commitment to uplift the nonprofits that care for Hawai‘i’s families, keiki and k?puna. From July 6 through August 9, community members are invited to visit lovesbakery.com to nominate their favorite Hawai‘i-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for a chance to receive a share of $50,000 in grants.
For generations, Love’s has been a familiar presence in homes throughout Hawai‘i — from school lunches to family gatherings. Through Spirit of Giving, that legacy extends beyond the table and into the heart of the community. Since 2021, in partnership with Love’s Holding Company, Franz Bakery and Hawai‘i Foodservice Alliance, the initiative has awarded over $275,000 to organizations making a meaningful impact across the islands.
“For 175 years, Love’s has been part of everyday life in Hawai‘i,” said Kim Albers-Nisbet, CEO of Franz Family Bakery. “Spirit of Giving reflects what matters most to us, supporting the nonprofits that serve our communities with compassion, dedication and aloha. We are proud to stand alongside the organizations that show up every day for Hawai‘i’s ?ohana.”
The Spirit of Giving initiative provides an opportunity for the community to nominate and support the nonprofits that often work quietly behind the scenes, strengthening communities across Hawai‘i. From organizations that care for families facing illness, support our k?puna, and uplift keiki through education, literacy, and youth programs, to those that provide care and sanctuary for animals, these nonprofits play an important role in helping families thrive and keeping the island communities strong.
“True community is built when we care for one another,” Albers-Nisbet added. “This initiative allows us to give back in a meaningful way and help ensure these vital organizations can continue their important work.”
