Talk Commerce Launches Running Commerce for the Specialty Running Industry
Running Commerce joins the Talk Commerce feed, a new show built for one corner of the commerce world: the people running the specialty running industry.
I have run 34 marathons and am currently working on the full Hawaiian Islands series, and each one started at a specialty running store or a race expo, where a stranger who had run the same distance handed me what I needed to get to the start line. That community runs on relationships the way software runs on code, and nobody in commerce media was covering it.
Why Running Needed Its Own Conversation
Talk Commerce interviews people building and running e-commerce businesses, whatever they sell. Running is different enough to earn its own room. A specialty running retailer competes with Amazon and Dick’s Sporting Goods for the same customer, but wins on fit, gait analysis, and a staff that races on weekends. A running brand launching a new shoe fights supply chain and margin pressure like any DTC company, but its customer will run hundreds of miles in the product and knows within the first ten whether it lied to them. Race directors, coaches, and technology providers sit inside that same tension between commerce and craft, and Running Commerce is where they talk about it.
What the Show Covers
Running Commerce is built for running brand founders and executives, specialty running retailers, race directors, technology providers, coaches, and athletes: anyone building, selling, or innovating in the running space. Episodes run 20 to 30 minutes, short enough to listen to on your next run, and they carry the same Talk Commerce approach: no scripts, no sales pitches, two people talking. Guests talk about building and scaling running brands, retail challenges specific to run specialty, race technology, community building, supply chain, and marketing inside a niche sport, plus where running culture and commerce meet.
Where to Listen
